Sleep Tips with Serta
We all have those nights where we just can’t seem to get to sleep. There are a lot of factors that can affect your ability to fall asleep. Here are some tips to help you fall asleep faster.
Reduce Caffeine Intake
Find yourself drinking coffee when you get home from work? Maybe even sipping the end of your morning beverage around dinner time? Everyone is different and has different levels of sensitivity to caffeine, but since drinking coffee and energy drinks has become so commonplace, we might not even realize when we are taking in a little more caffeine than we need. Try to limit caffeine intake to certain hours of the day. A cup in the morning is great, but by two in the afternoon, it might be time to switch to non-caffeinated tea or water.
Hide the Clock
Always checking the clock to see how much sleep you can get tonight? Having the constant ticking of an analogue or the glowing light of a digital can increase your anxiety while you sleep. The more you look at the clock, the more anxious you get about not sleeping enough, and the harder it is to fall asleep.
Pay Attention to Your Mattress
Notice you’re tossing and turning and just can’t seem to get comfortable? Maybe it’s your mattress. If there are sags in your mattress or your mattress isn’t the right firmness or material for you, it may be too uncomfortable for you.
